Hello
I receive my broadband connection from AOL. I would like to configure a static IP address and have been trying to do this so far by using the
Port Forward guide.
However, I cannot get my connection to work once I have configured my network connection settings. I suspected, as the guide suggests, that this is because the DNS server numbers which I enter are not correct.
So I called AOL today and after over an hour of verious advisers arguing that they could not provide me with DNS server numbers, I gave up.
So how can I go about obtaining DNS server numbers in order to assign a static IP address?
Is the Port Forward guide correct in it's approach of how to do it?
Do AOL really provide DNS server numbers?
Is
http://www.no-ip.com/ worth pursuing?
Any assistance would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
