Default Who has the oldest 'Old School' kit?

As title really, who's got the oldest kit on TA?

Pic's are a must.

I'll start the ball rolling with my Dad's old mono fader control from the mid 60's.

Somebody MUST have an old Valve radio stashed in a cupboard somewhere...

Don't be shy!

I literally just popped round my mums today to find her getting rid of an old record player / tape deck combined (not for the car of course). Not sure what it was (some sanyo thing i think) but damn.....it was old, possibly early 80's.

Not as impressive as your 60's kit but keeps the ball rolling.

Unfortunately no pics cause its probably on fire now

Wow Uncle Fester, that KPC-90 Kenwood alarm takes me back! Back in the days when I was an installer, Kenwood had three or four models on sale in the USA, I think in a joint deal with some alarm brand over there. I installed a US-model KPC-60 into their UK Sales Director's Rover in around 1991, followed by the first KPC-90 into the Mini demo car I did for them the same year. It wasn't a bad piece but commercially unsuccessful, and I was still getting technical calls put on to me a couple of years after I'd joined Clifford back in 1993! Thanks for the memories!

Unfortunately i have no pics, but i had 2 12" subwoofers that my grandad had used in the late 70s for his wireless radio, (thats oldskool wireless!!), setup! I put them in my car for a laugh, they worked and I undoubtedly had the oldest subs in a car going!! (they didnt last long being very flimsy and had a few holes in the cone already!)

You were at Clifford after me? Unlucky! (Who are you???) That Golf was a great drive with the PPI system in, although I did hear some of the speakers got blown after I handed it back! I have pics of it in gallery under my old login of gary@directed herehttp://www.talkaudio.co.uk/gallery/s...00&ppuser=3319

I guess it must be getting on for 6-years ago now, it was new as a 52-plate and I installed it soon after getting it - certainly over 5-years!

What a good idea it was at the time to router the PPI logo through the false-floor & mirror to create a cool woofer grille.....and how I regretted it when lining each of the internal cut edges with the red alcantara trim!!!!

Just bringing this thread back to life, i've finally dug out my classic motorola and taken some pics.

The main unit with the two dash controls, the dial shows the tuning, one know is volume, the other the tuning, these are linked via a bowden type cable back to the main unit. The other little knob changes it between modes such as "country" or "city" and the other is some sort of eq type thing has the modes "bass", "vocal" and "music".

Internal Shot

Valve Goodness

Rather old Celestion

Made in the USA.

So there we go, not sure what year it is, think around the 1940s.

It does still work too !!
