Sorry mate I know its a nice car, but BMWs are the repmobile of today, and are nearly always driven in extremis by 'tards.

Saying that, I wouldn't mind a CSL.
Yeah, that's right.

Well, for the 3-series it is...

Have to say I'm with The Parrot on this one... Beemers are 10 a penny where I live & almost without exception they're driven by reeking hair product advertisements who seem to feel the need to declare their importance by talking very loudly on their mobile phones... They usually congregate around Cafe Rouge, just after they've eaten at Pizza Express...

Not all BMWs are rep mobiles, the Zs, the 7 series, 6 series, 8 series etc are not rep mobiles. You can't class all cars by their low models, or else the SLR is a mini mpv driven by clueless nannies, or it's a taxi.

That's pretty ironic, given that the one thing the CSL doesn't come with is audio....

If I had one theres no way I would fill it up with subs and amps etc whats the point of having all the carbon in the first place.

I pulled up next to an E46 M3 yesterday and it looked amazing, huge wheels huge brakes and it just looked like a superb car and the noise when he toed it away

They're lovely, but pointless on the road, a friend of dad's got one and regrets it. The gearchange is jerky, and you can never just cruise, the car needs to be racing all the time.

If I was getting one I would have it in a manual as I've heard the gear change can be a bit savage especially when in sport mode, a friend of mine has a 600bhp 996 turbo and he says that it cruises about quite happily so I don't see the M3 being a problem.

All wishful thinking really because unless I win the lottery I won't be getting one

The new M5 is a V10, that B5 is a V8 which is probably the old M5 engine.

The new M is a monster, it'll out accelerate any of the 55 AMG's. Freaking awesome. One Day..... ONE DAY i'll have an M5!

B5: power = 500 bhp @ 5500 rpm
hp per litre = 113.69 bhp per litre
torque = 516.3 ft lbs @ 4250 rpm

M5: Power = 507.0 bhp @ Not Available rpm
hp per litre = 101.42 bhp per litre
torque = 383.5 ft lbs @ 6100 rpm

I know which I'd rather have.

My jap car hasn't got a spot of rust on it, and would blow your BMW away on the track

Having said that, I agree with you that BMWs are quality cars, and people who whinge about them are generally jealous, or do so because they think it's 'cool'.
