As per the title, really. Her current is a '54 147Ti. It's alright, but at 50,000 miles it's showing the signs of six years of female ownership, low-mileage commuting and Italian resilience. It's not particularly economical for a 1.6 hatch, it's massive overkill for what she needs, and perhaps the biggest headache of all, is that the nearest dealer is 30 miles in the opposite direction to work, the nearest independent specialist 60 miles in another. As you can guess, servicing and repairs are an immense headache.

So, new car. Criteria is as follows, as directed by Mother SCOOTER:
Reliable
Small
Economical
Good looking (I know...)
A few luxuries (alloys, air-con or better still climate control)
Not too expensive

Another big thing is dealers, for reasons mentioned at the start. Dealers near to us, therefore the cars we can choose from, are:

Closest/best:
Ford
Mazda
Kia
Vauxhall
Mercedes

Close/acceptable
Citroen
Renault
Nissan
Peugeot
Mitsubishi
Chevrolet

Ruled out ("Don't like the look/don't want to drive a...")
Citroen DS3 (shame, as I like this a lot)
Kia Soul (ditto the DS3)
Kia Pro'Ceed
Vauxhall Corsa
Ford Ka

Possibilities:
Nissan Note
Ford Fiesta

But, so far, the runaway favourite is the Mazda2, which meets her needs perfectly. Seems a good enough car (p' haps the best looking supermini), and I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about Mazda reliability. A former neighbour had am early 626, which hit 216,000 miles. Another neighbour has a '99 626, currently at 178,000 miles, much of which was spent hauling caravans, and it still runs as sweet as ever.

Any other suggestions, or stuff I've forgotten?

330mm rotors with DS2500 pads to go on the already fitted bells. Fairly standard rears.
Going on a MK1 Leon Cupra R. Stops like a stuck sticky thing :clown:

the fuel tank is in the boot right behind the rear seat:mad: and thus i cant put a port there...to make things worse the boot is fuly soundproofed and the bass also has to pass through £90 of fuel before it gets to the cabin which i am sure is sucking a lot of energy out of the sound

so has anyone ever had a hole cut into a fuel tank and if so where did you get it done and how much did it cost?

i understand its a bit of a risky job but i was hopeing that there are more than enough nutcases on here that would consider this normal lol:confused:

Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham has. And he's only 18. And he's a paraplegic. Yep, he's a teenage paraplegic daredevil -- and we've got video footage to prove it.

Catapulted into a ramp by an specially adapted bungee cord, Aaron rides his wheelchair into a ramp, slinging upself into the air and spinning a clear two times in the air.

He'd done it before, quite a few times, but not without the all-important wheel-based landing, resulting in more than a few nasty crashes.

Despite being born with spina bifida, Aaron refused to let that stop his pursuit of thrills, first perfecting the wheelchair-based grind, carve and powerslide before moving onto the fully-fledged backflip, and now, double backflip.
I simply cannot be bothered to pack up all the gear, get in the car, drive, unpack all the gear, walk around taking 100's of photo's to get home, go through editting and have 10 keepers that I show Em, post on POTN which is pretty pointless too as the threads either get 1 word responses/criticism or if they are in the local thread it moves so fast that shots simply get missed in the torrent of posts (I dont bother asking for C&C on TP anymore), print a couple out for my album and then stick them on a HDD to rot.

I don't get paid for shots and I have no intention of doing so, this is meant to be a hobby.
I am close to selling up, grabbing a Nex5 and an Ipad and being done with it.
