Okay guys, i just purschased some fans for my amps which will we sat underneath a false floor. but now i have a little prob, they come with a PC adpater at the end (as usual). so does the red go to power, and black to earth, what about the yellow?

bascially how do u wire a pc fan to work in a car system, thanks!

(if it helps a have a distribution block 4g to 8g for the power wires to the amps, i hav a couple of spare spaces for wire, could the pc fans be wired from this?)

thanks guys (nearly finifshed the install!)

red is 12v and yellow is 5v, so plug in red and black to earth and tape up yellow out of the way :)

Best way to wire is using a relay, switched by the Remote Wire, otherwise they are always on.

The red line on the fan is the 12v line, I have just had a look.

cut the yellow wire.

use the red (12v) and black (Gnd)

the yellow wire is speed sense so the computer can detect the rpm at which the fan is spinning.

It depends really, if it is a 3 pin fan the red is 12v and the yellow is the rpm sensor, if it is 4 pin molex then yellow is 12 red is 5 and either black is ground.
