hi lads.

I've bought a PG EQ215x as a cheap 'does an EQ help my system' experiment.

I'd like to EQ my sub frequencies of course, as well as the front, but at the moment the sub has a seperate preout from the HU (for obvious reasons - xover and sub level control).

I see that my new EQ has sub out (xover) function AND a level control - the LPL44 I think its called.

A few questions:

Is this gain or attenuation? I like the sub control on my HU as its attenuation, and if I set the sub amp gain while the headunit is on +15, then theres no chance of causing clipping..

Is this the case with the LPL44 or is it really a gain control?

Would like some clarification on this as it could be a useful tool... :)

Hi Chris,

I'v had some experience with the LPL44 before, with a PG amp though.

It's just attenuation (-18db-0) IIRC :)

Not that useful IMO - well in my situation.

Woohoo! :D So I can EQ my sub bass and not lose out on functionality!

Now I just need to find a LPL44 control and cable...

Thanks Dean.

Chris.

It is a stock RJ11 lead with a standard pot on it. Only problem was value - maplins value was slightly out so it calibration was slightly iffy.

www.pgdownloads.com has all the info you need.
