alright chaps,

Just wanted to get peoples opinions on the new pioneer Units.
the DEH-p8600 (clicky) (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3079)
and the DEH-p9600 (clicky) (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3080)

I really like the looks of both, but prefer the p8600.

so, any opinions on either or both units?
I know some people dont like OEL displays but IMO i think the are both really nice looking units that are not TOO over the top

We've got both the 8600 and the 9600 in stock as of today... We've had a play with the 8600 and its a beauty!

The MP3 browsing is top notch - it works more like an MStation than a normal headunit... :)

To be honest, we had a play with the menus, but it was only connected to a set of Kenwood and Pioneer coax's which are in our test bench, so we couldn't really do any listening tests ;)
Its probably gonna sound similar to the DEH-P77MP though; i think it has the same burr brown dacs.

Rich, you should have got the 9600, far more streetbass bling and not much more expensive either :shiny:

I like them both a lot actually, time to start saving!

As you can see by sig, i've got a 9400MP. Do you think its worth upgrading to a 9600MP ??

Blade

I guess thats up to you fella! The 9400 is still a superb unit though... I dont think there are massive revolutionary differences between the 2...

tape deck.. 3 sets of rca outs, aux in, spectrum analyser, limited (by today's standards) EQ abilities, multicoloured display.. erm, I can't remember a lot actually.. but it was damn cool. I dug mine out a couple of months ago and installed it for my dad.. still sounds very good to me :)

Yes, the Bling is also very important, life is a careful balance between Money, and Bling... You can't have both, tread the path carefully :) ;)

The software is free to download from the Pioneer website and using it you can have any picture you want and even short movies, now where did that copy of Charlie and the pool table go :clown:
