whether the newer ones are as good as th art series is debateable, but a debate i would contribute little too as IMO, althought there is a difference, it is ever so slight, in favour of the art series.

in any case, in terms of modern offerings, you could do a lot less than PPI.

the reason i asked was that a couple of people were tellin me that the quality of the amps had gone down sice the company was taken over. I think the same was said for viper, orion

Well PPI what can i say, there damn loud!

PPI used to rate there amp with 3db of dynamic head room so you can basically double the output figure straight way

I shot the voice through the cone of my DLS MW12 with "400 rms" of power ;)

Like all these US brands (Soundstream, orion ads etc ) the older stuff is much better

What series is the amp you looking at PPI, Power Series, PCX, Art series, AM, Tube :)

They are clean and accurate up to very high volumes

I loved mine, but Sinfoni is the way forward :)

Oz I told you the old ones were better than the new stuff :p and yes the older ones had 3db of headroom.

Also if I'm not mistaken weren't the Art Series made by the same guy who made the JL Slash Series amps? and had the first RIPS sort of system? Or am I completely off here :).

PPI-Mark = i didnt know ppi make a tube amp, ill check up on that.

i love ppi amps. i has a pcs 5 channel amp and it was very nice. good to look at, easy to adjust, made lot of power.

the art series arent that hard to find on ebay, but im mostly interrested in the tube amps, but can't seem to find them anywhere. The ppi tube amps look a lot like the ones that Butler make, any reason why?
