Anyone got any thoughts on the above unit? Its right at the top of my price range, so don't say go for such and such expensive unit...

Lemme know what you reckon though.

I own one and i have to say its a brillant piece of kit, with more features than most in its price range.

I have never had another HU so i can't compare it SQ wise against anything, but those who have heard it do rate it highly, and it is on par (if not better IMO) with the Pioneer 7500MP in terms of features etc...

One disadvantage that i point out to anyone wanting to buy a Blau is that there are adaptors for EVERYTHING, if you want RCA out, AUX in, Sub out you WILL have to buy the adaptors for them, so you might need to think aobut this when you budget for you system :(

P.s i hope i posted before sameulellis for a change ;)

Yeah, think i've posted this before, or pm'd you, but i am from the playstation generation, which means i have no memory.

What was i saying again?

Nah, thanks for all the help mate, i think i'm going with this one, may get a changer at a later date, and an amp/sub setup, but i'm happy for the moment.

I used a Blaupunkt unit in the past, and was very impressed by it... Great, minimalistic type styling, good SQ, and nice build quality :)

Wahey! Looks like i'm on to a winner here! Nice cheap price as well, £199 down from £349, with £6.99 for the Aux input cable.
As for SQ, i'm coming from a Sony CDX-MP30, so i hope i'll hear the difference!

Also, i like the look of the Blau transparent range, to go with it eventually.

Just had a look at prices of an MStation to go with it... Fookin Hell! Bit Pricey, they are!

Oh you're planning on using bluespot, IMO use CAD, they might price match and i know from past experiance that they definately have better after sales care :)

Just had a quick gander, CAD are £20 more, and they don't list the aux cable, and i don't think the price includes delivery.

The blau transparent range is cool,

Would look wicked with a load of neon behind them. Tried to find pics of their demo car, but couldn't. That was impressive.

Whats the idea with the price match then? Do i have to email someone or what?

no offence but i think they look a bit :chunks: wonder what there're new HU's will look like.

£20 more is worth it, and yes they do sell the Aux adaptor, i bought mine from them

EDIT;

just noticed your bit about the price match thing, either give them a call or email them, see what they can do, i can't be sure that they will though, never had to ask in the past they are usually alot cheaper than anywhere else, or if they aren't you don't want to be buying of some company that have the brains like monkies ;) (if you know what i mean)

I got some subs through work, the 2 12`s cos me 80 notes for the pair! I didnt expect alot for the money but i was surprised i have them in a 1.8 cuft enc each and they drop reasonably low and have anice sound to them, far better than the pioneer 12`s i had before (304`s) they are a low/mid range sub and are priced accordingly i would have them over the kenwood/pioneer/maystar offering about atm.

The componets and full range speakers are rubbish tho, amps are pretty good tho.

I had the la mp3 unit too, and it was real nice, good sound on a par with my alpine 7893, but the styling is not for me display is `orrible.Very good for the price tho

I think the display is very good actually especially when you compare it to the much complained about Pioneer 7500MP display.

You can dim it and it also has a night and day mode which IIRC the pioneer lacks?

I have got a blau los angeles the first one had to be replaced within the first couple of weeks. its very good for the price and I cannot fault it. build quailty is good. Like the fact it uses ISO connectors straight into the back of the unit. dont like the fact you have to buy additional cables.

Cheers for all the info, i'm happy with it. It was delivered today, and apart from the lack of ISO speaker plug that i chopped off to fit my Sony, its all in fine.

Anyone know where i can get an ISO plug from? Need the white speaker one, with the clip half way up the side.

Was it from us? Did you call us and did we price match/better bluespot?

One thing about Blaupunkts... They tend to be more fussy about grounding thatn most brands & prone to ground loops and so on if caution is not taken to eliminate the causes of same.

SQ is good & they have a pleasingly minimalistic style.
