Hi guys,

my GF just got broadband installed and wants to have it set up so her flatmate can use it on her computer too.

now I've got it at home and its shared with 4 others using a router etc etc. but would it be possible to share with just one without the router etc? is is possible (if modem is connected by USB) to use internet connection sharing (both XP) to share the internet using the network cards?

You can use internet connection sharing mate - and a CAT5 crossover cable between the 2 pc's. That's how mine is set up at the moment :)

thats what id did when i was sharing the connection with my ps2, got the cable of the gringo for a fiver. now ive got another pc ive had to sstart again with routers and a new modem and all sorts of shít

k, cheers guys. how easy is it to change the settings when changing from NIC connection to USB connection (for the modem)?
