lozzy 13-02-2004, 03:26 AM oh yes! best money ive ever falked out for
n3lly 13-02-2004, 03:31 AM well that 128mb one is pretty pants compared to the gig sticks you can get now.. though they are a bit pricey. Still cool to know you could if you wanted to stick a gig into a key ring size thing.
They're handy for college/Uni for files etc. Out goes the floppy in come these bad boys. But as was stated above they're not that new anymore.. though they are cheaper :D
EddyP 13-02-2004, 04:51 AM my 256mb ones broken:( when ever i try to access it it says this drive needs formatting, if u try to format it it says it cant be formatted.
I'm gonna get one of these to keep on my keyring:

1st one Ive seen that actually looks nice :)
Benny 13-02-2004, 01:47 PM I've got a 16Mb version I use to keep all my Aironet drivers on :)
Quite fancy half a gig or so, but not entirely sure I can justify it just yet!

somouk 13-02-2004, 03:11 PM I've got a 256 Mb boring one but the lads in my office keep buying the ones that are built into a watch. They seem to work OK for about 6 months then just stop working though.

256mb? 1GB? Is that all :p
I just got myself one of these

Its a laptop HDD caddy with USB2 connection. Stick a laptop HDD in and you're done! It works exactly the same as the USB Sticks you're talking about.
I currently have a 10GB HDD in mine, while I wait to order my 60GB HDD :D
I have complete copies of office applications, operating systems, drivers, updates, service packs etc etc etc on there that I use every day for work.
Fantastic device... and only £20 too! A 20GB laptop HDD can be bought for around £60, so for £80 all in you have 20GB of storage that fits in your pocket!

for £95 you can get a Western Digital 80Gb external USB2 hard disk. Its bigger, but if your after large storage which is portable, you can't beat it.
USB sticks - bloody excellent :)
Mystical Sound 13-02-2004, 07:55 PM yeh they're bloody excellent! I always had a problem with taking my large program files to college, had a virgin email account which offered loads of storage space but these damn things are so much more convinient.. :)
I bought my 256mb crucial stick for £39.99 inc shipping :D
