hiya guys,

was looking at the genesis audiophile 16 components on CAD, and was wondering if anybody has heard these speakers, or if any1 owns a set at all?

are they a decent SQ component set?

I too am considering these speakers.

I think we can assume they are excellent SQ speakers when you take into consideration Genesis' excellent amps and SQ reputation.

I'll look forward to anyones comments who has actually used them though.

I've heard I think the 5.25" verson of these comps running off Soundstream amps and they sounded great, laid back,smooth and musical.

They're very clear sounding. The only possible critisism I have is that they lack mid-bass slightly. But otherwise they are a very smooth sounding set of components. For the money I haven't heard any better.

I am not making my component choice until after t9, everything else will be sorted apart from the fronts just so i can here as many as possible, so Mike if its ok with you i would love to hear these :)

I heard these ran of a Genny 5 chan amp. They sound REALLY good. Sadly they where not properly ran in yet, but i liked what i heard, detailed, yet not harsh. Good bass too. These where the 5 1/4 though i think. From what i remember, they intergrated very nicely with the genny 6x9 subs :D ;)

I use them in my setup and am very pleased. I have ran them active using a pair of PG amps and a 3SX and using a Genny p5 and I eventually went back to passive. The passives are very hard to fault.

Nice speakers all round really. I have them mounted in the door with a lot of brown bread and dynamat and the midbass is pretty good. Although I do use an EQ, so that may solve some of the problems.
