Just found this pager for the Clifford alarms and was wondering if any1 had heard anything about it?

Do you need an already existing pager system?
Is it an official Clifford product?
Will it void anything?

Tried looking at the Clifford website and there was nowt I could find, any1?

Cheers

I cant see why you couldnt set it up to work on your car but you'd have to pay for all the sensors / actuators in the car like normal so you;re looking at mega bucks to make sure all the features work.

As for voiding anything, it shouldnt if you do it at a Clifford approved installer.

The Clifford Responder 2-way remote is damn sexy, but it can't be made legal to sell in the UK I'm afraid!

We have just launched the UK's first legally approved 2-way under the Avital brand though - the 4400 alarm & remote start system.
I've been testing this Avital myself on my Golf for nearly a year - it's stunning & doesn't suffer the interference issues that dog the illegal (un-approved) 2-ways floating around either!

PS. The remotes don't work by themselves - they'll obviously need something in the car to transmit back to the handset-pager so not just a matter of programming to existing systems I'm afraid!

Is it illegal to own and use this system in the UK though? because i know of someone who through various contacts, has aquired one of these full systems, and is currently using it!!

So this pager is part of a complete system? and not some accessory that can be added to say a Clifford 300.

Would it work with my existing sensors, tilt&motion, dual zone etc... or would it have to be a COMPLETE system replacement

How come is it everything remotely (pardon the pun) useful is illegal in this country, god damn I need to emigrate

Not illegal to own or use, but it is illegal for us or a dealer to sell it here in the UK without DTi conformity on transmitter frequency & power, etc.
Additionally, since it hasn't been tested here, there may be other radio sources operating here that could cause interference with it's operation - can't be sure!

If you want something like this we do now have the first legally approved 2-Way in the Avital 4400 system - now available & dead cool!

No, can't be added to any existing system as you need something in your car to transmit back! (It's also now an old model anyway btw!)

Ignoring your pun, have a look-see at the Avital 4400! Lots of the same features, legal & on sale now!
