What do you want it to do? Surround sound processing? Music production? Games (EAX)? Sampling?

its for my brother he mainly wants it to play mp3's.
hes been looking at a speaker system which says the sound card needs to be 6channel :err:

yep, audigy 2 will deal with that I think it even supports 7.1 but I could be wrong. Got one of these myself think its cracking.

what boes does he have, if its an nforce board it already has good sound in it.
