Well... I say slugging it out.. I mean embarassing me ;) :)
Northern_Sounds 16-01-2004, 03:24 AM Think i'll be in street somewhere.
Not sure which class yet though.
Might join you in street B!!
Mark
James M 16-01-2004, 03:27 AM Street A for me then
what does battery physical size limits actually mean?
Northern_Sounds 16-01-2004, 03:30 AM what does battery physical size limits actually mean?
Nobody knows yet!!
Mega Heavy Bass 16-01-2004, 03:43 AM This is the third draft of the rules.
I`m in Street C.
Trying to hit 150dB again
I`m assuming the battery size is limited to the original one that can fit in the engine bay.
The rules are not finalised yet though.
More details as I get them.
Or you can also check for yourselves on the termpro forum
Blinkybill 16-01-2004, 12:50 PM Damm James u r in the same group as me !

Blade 16-01-2004, 03:21 PM Lozzy, you'd be in Street C, as you run 2 X 15s chap

Thats the Smart in Street A then.
Thanks Marcus for keeping us uptodate. 150....should be easy for you !
Tall Paul :)
Here's to dBdrag and idBL and a stormin year !
Oh James M, last year the same rule applied....it basically means that your battery has to 'fit' into the space of the original.
jamiebae 16-01-2004, 04:23 PM Can I run a pair of DVC 10 inch subs in Street A or do they have to be SVC?
Tall Paul 16-01-2004, 04:26 PM jamiebae, DVC subs are allowed in all classes.
Although, as MHB said, the rules aren't 100% finalised yet.
Tall Paul :)
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 04:28 PM yea i relised that my eyes were playing tricks on me lol whats the record in this catagory?
No record for this category, its never been run before.
Redcords only last for one year anyway, they are returned to zero at the start of every new year.
Ben

Blade 16-01-2004, 05:15 PM I'm pretty sure you can just turn up at events...
Could you give us an idea of how much dBDrag events are gonna cost to enter Ben?

Most dB Drag events will be turn up an pay, others will be book a week or two in advance, just depends on the type of show.
Cant personally comment on prices.
Im sure all details will be released as soon as they are confirmed.
Ben
mini_basser 16-01-2004, 05:47 PM Grr I want to be in Street, but no way I can see that happening in any form with a Mini's boot :( (yes I know I still have plans, just Street would be more interesting)
Im just gonna have to end up in Street Pro getting a battering...
M:B

what so no battery in the boot
Blade 16-01-2004, 05:54 PM I'm not up on the rules this season, but last season, I believe you could only run a battery in the boot in Street B class, or above, not Street A
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 05:58 PM Street Pro will work quite well for you M:B ;)
You can have your engine running and have your head-unit outside the car, both not allowed in normal Street.
Plus your at a slight advantage with regards to battrey power ;) Your battery is already in the boot, right near the amps :D With an extra battery in the boot all your power is were it is needed, as close to the amps as posible :D
And as you know the mini has a small cabin and a rather high RF aswell.
At the moment I cant think of any UK car that will be in SP, our mini will stay in NW, so you could come along to an event and find yourself doing rather well.
Ben
James M 16-01-2004, 06:03 PM Damm James u r in the same group as me !
Good luck dude and to all you others :)
you to mate!
this only running a battery in the standard location sounds pain in the arse though
lozzy 16-01-2004, 06:12 PM i have 4x15s what catergory do i go in?
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 06:17 PM 4 x 15s will put you into SS 3-4.
This is one of the "bigger boys" classes. 3 or 4 subs in a wall normally. In previous years in the UK cars were hitting over 160s.
World class cars were hitting 165/167s
Ben
Blade 16-01-2004, 06:20 PM I said that... where'd my post go?
EDIT: Ignore me, twas in another window, and funnily enough, i'd not clicked "Post"
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 06:23 PM LOL
Actually Street Pro might be beneficial to you as well.
Will get over your remote problem by allowing you to use the head-unit outside the car. Might be worth considering.
Ben
Blade 16-01-2004, 07:35 PM I may well do chap... I'm not too fussed about being in a higher class, i'm not going to win anything either way! :)

Ben
Well isnt that something :D
How is your car in a different class to my planned install though? The whole back seat install NW style (unless I wall it...) etc is pretty similar
Battery power: Oh I should have plenty of that when I get my new batt ;)
Hmm I have a much more positive outlook on the whole comp thing now :D Think I will need a much bigger alt at some point...
M:B
Blade 16-01-2004, 10:17 PM Ben, whatsd the difference between SS No Wall, and this new Street Pro class?
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 10:35 PM The differences between NW and SP are pretty simple.
In NW you can have upto 18 volts and can have floor mods. Upto 8 amps aswell.
SP is a bigger Street, 12 volt, no floor mods, 4 amps only.
SP is basically a stepping stone between Street and Super Street.
You wont get that whooped Lozzy, 4 SEs, plenty of power and good batteries will easily see 160 on the old mics.
Ben
lozzy 17-01-2004, 04:17 AM thats a sigh of relief are the old mikes being used this season?
Mr Bump 17-01-2004, 04:23 AM Nope, new mics at all dB Drag events this year.
They turned up on thursday ;)
Ben
lozzy 17-01-2004, 04:25 AM Sweet! do you have to pay for them or does IASCA Pay for them ?
Mr Bump 17-01-2004, 04:36 AM The new UK dB Drag rep has purchased the mics.
Ben
lozzy 17-01-2004, 04:45 AM would that be you? :D
Mr Bump 17-01-2004, 05:20 AM So you havnt seen all the posts by Loudboy/Darren announcing he has taken over dB Drag in the UK then and announcing his retirement from competition??
;)
Ben
lozzy 17-01-2004, 05:27 AM i meant ECC really :red:
lol i was gonna say it would be mr loud boy :beam:
Mr Bump 17-01-2004, 05:30 AM Technically it is Darren, he is the rep.
Ben
MonsterMunch 17-01-2004, 04:19 PM Any idea when the new rules will the finalised?
