View Full Version : IS THE KICKERS SOLOX 18" SUB ANYGOOD??? NEED ADVICE PLEZZ
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:20 AM AM WORKING ON MY HONDA CIVIC.IT STARTED IT`Z LIFE AS A 1.6 V-TEC BUT I`VE NOW GOT A 2.2 V-TEC ENGINE NOW TURBO-CHARGED IT AND NOW IT`S PUMPIN OUT OVER 320BHP.ANYWAY AM ALSO HAVING A hydraulics SYSTEM IN THA BOOT NOW JUST GOT INSTALLED LIKE 2 DAYZ NOW.SOOOO AM THINKING OF HAVING A SOLOX SUB IN THE BOOT BUT AM THINKING OF PUTTING IT UPSIDE DOWN CUZ I LOVE THE MASSIVE MAGNET AND IT WOULD BE A SHAMED TO HIDE IT (IS THIS A GOOD IDEA??)
WHEN IT FINISHED IT`LL LOOK LIKE THE KICKERS DEMO CAR IN MAX POWER 2003 THE RED CIVIC BUT ONLY FROM THE OUTSIDE THO.AM HAVING A INSIDE OUT KICKERS SYSTEM INSTALLED??? ARE THAY SPEAKER ANY GOOD?? ALSO AHVING EVERYTHING POWERED UP BY KICKERS (AMPLIFIERS) AN EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE TOP OF THE RANGE!!!
Mart@BassJunkies 16-01-2004, 01:25 AM think about turning your caps off first
yeah kicker stuff is good
samuelellis 16-01-2004, 01:27 AM dont type in capitals
one brand systems are never usually a good idea
and why all this on a civic
deano vw 16-01-2004, 01:28 AM is there actually room in the boot after having the hydraulics fitted?
VolvoMan 16-01-2004, 01:28 AM Not really suited for SQ type installs (not to say people dont but there are alot better for SQ) and goes damn loud thats for sure in the right box.
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 01:29 AM Not a huge Kicker fan, they seem to have lost there way after making some excellent gear.
If you do intend to run one have you got the space for 5-10 cubic feet of box?
The 2000 watts plus power, the extra batteries etc??
Ben
mini_basser 16-01-2004, 01:32 AM In a Civic? Juiced? That sub and generously sized box alone is gonna be a total back end filling job ;) Then the amps and hydro kit on top of that...

majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:41 AM yep there was plenty of space left for the hydraulics
samuelellis 16-01-2004, 01:45 AM a honda civic tho
why?
and going for a all in one brand has not often made good systems, better off mixing and matching
or using normal subs in a wall
mini_basser 16-01-2004, 01:45 AM yep there was plenty of space left for the hydraulics
 There was, or will be after you build the hypothetical massive Solo-X box?
M:B
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:47 AM it`ll all fix dont worry i planned it all out bro and samuelellis am a massive fan of jap cars i own like 7 of them,2 french and 3 italian
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:50 AM ohh so name me some good system then???
VolvoMan 16-01-2004, 01:51 AM What cars do you own the others might be a better option regarding space etc?
Mart@BassJunkies 16-01-2004, 01:51 AM thats it i cant take no more of this so cut the **** m8 are you david beckham?:p
deano vw 16-01-2004, 01:51 AM how much power are you going to be putting into the 18"
and why have a 320bhp bouncy castle? ;)
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:51 AM th solo x going to be facing the front so it going to be like 3" behind me leaving plenty of room
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 01:53 AM You do realise how big the box will need to be?
Roughly 20 x 20 x 30 inches.
One big box! Probably bigger!!
Ben
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:54 AM david beckham? wish i was. we got a business which run well
boring tdi 16-01-2004, 01:55 AM ohh so name me some good system then???
whats your budget, your aim, what have you already got?
why do i get the urge to type "like init" after my post
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 01:58 AM Mmmm that true but the hydraulics is going to be very low owered tho only running from 3 battery
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 02:00 AM my aim??? well i dont want to spent a massive amount on the ICE so about 3k or 4k max
VolvoMan 16-01-2004, 02:01 AM Haha, I like how he says "not a massive amout" then "3 or 4k"
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 02:02 AM hav any of you guy seen the kickers demo car the red honda civic well am builting a replica of that from the out side tho and i was thinkin of have the same system but having 2nd thoughts now
mini_basser 16-01-2004, 02:02 AM I was just about to say that
Is that for an entire system majsvibe? Or do you have anything already? I wouldnt get a Solo-X personally...
M:B
EDIT: Have you considered how pointless it is to build a replica of a current show car?
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 02:04 AM i hav also been wondering which sub is better the orion h2 or the re xxx in size 15"????
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 02:06 AM So youve got 3k to spend on an entire Kicker Sysem and you want to spend 2k+ on one sub and 2 amps to run it??
Ben
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 02:08 AM well it mostly the same but its got 2 different wing west kit combinted together really
Mr Bump 16-01-2004, 02:09 AM Are you familiar with the HayesSquad by any chance?

Ben
VolvoMan 16-01-2004, 02:22 AM Most is in the install...all down to personal taste too so try and hear a few if you can to help you decide.
James M 16-01-2004, 02:23 AM the thing to do is have a listen to either and make you own mind up, the best one is the one that sounds the best to you ;)
majsvibe 16-01-2004, 02:29 AM k kool thankz guyz why what the re xxx like in size 15" and 18"
VolvoMan 16-01-2004, 02:32 AM Loud and sounds great but need 1.5k at least if you want streetbass I reckon if not more.
James M 16-01-2004, 02:37 AM I'm giving my XXX about 1kw and its loud but will soon be giving it 2kw maybe more if I can keep the voltage up

James M 16-01-2004, 04:49 AM
BassNazi 16-01-2004, 04:53 AM I heard the demo civic a the NEC last year, personally i thought it sounded pretty 'well' (BassNazi's 'well' means it played pretty loud and low) and the box was not massive-it's a civic.
But if you have 10 -15 cuft i would go for 2x15" with a fair size port and 4k or more
XXX /HC
H2's
Some others
cannondale99 16-01-2004, 06:07 AM I thought you owned 11 cars Majsvibe?!?!?!?!?!

Mint!
Chris
k13bug 16-01-2004, 04:02 PM sounds like you've got some rude rides hidden away.... show us some pics... who sold you an air set with a car running that much power? not a good idea!!!! You will never get a sub box and air set in the boot of a civic.. are you ditching the rear seats? what are you running under the bonnet of the civic? which motor? also who built the gearbox? cause i'm looking for a decent company at the mo... which air set did you get? gotta be very careful running that much power with no fixed shox... could easily stick you 6 feet under!
let us all see/hear what you got cause i'm very interested!
Grant 16-01-2004, 04:50 PM Did anyone notice that in the Red Civic, they had put the Solo X in upside down comparing it to the 8's underneath, the red and grey bits behing the 'S' in the middle were the other way round.
Bassmonster 21-01-2004, 05:20 AM it`ll all fix dont worry i planned it all out bro and samuelellis am a massive fan of jap cars i own like 7 of them,2 french and 3 italian
maybe we need this? http://www.funmdse.com/store/media/210007m.jpg
