toxic3001 15-08-2006, 11:55 PM Ok guy's i have a Serious Question for you all.
I have placed a order for 6 Gallon's of Second Skin Spectrum Liquid will this be a nuff to do a good job on the door's and boot on a Vectra ?. Are should i get some sort of matting to ?.
jonas 16-08-2006, 08:20 AM You've got enough to cover 120 sq/ft
toxic3001 16-08-2006, 09:36 AM ok cool on the othere thread it says its 40sq'ft a gallon so i work that out to 240sq'ft then 2 layer's so yer 120sq'ft
jonas 16-08-2006, 10:32 AM ok cool on the othere thread it says its 40sq'ft a gallon so i work that out to 240sq'ft then 2 layer's so yer 120sq'ft
Ah yes, I was thinking of the firewall stuff. :)
toxic3001 16-08-2006, 10:57 AM do you think there will be enough to do a Vectra ?
240sq ft just for the doors and boot :o
i would say thats plenty
jonas 16-08-2006, 04:30 PM My complete guestimate would be that 100sq/ft would be enough to give the doors, floorpan and boot 1 coat.
dark_sounds 16-08-2006, 06:38 PM ive done my boot today,, and basically i laid down 36 sqft of damplifier pro,,, and went over it with 36.... i had more then half the bucket left, and went over again,, and again,, and again,,, and i done the rear passenger seat base, and rear wings from inside the cabin,,, and still got some left over!
all in loads of coats,, though equivelent to around 1-2mm depth...

So are You happy with it and you got any pic's ??
I think im going to use some body line matting for the boot and maybe some Second Skin Damplifier / Second Skin Overkill
In the door's to fill the gap's so i get some nice mid bass going on
chal2020 16-08-2006, 07:52 PM Just got mine today on 1 gallon though. worked out doors are near enough 12 sq ft so 24 for both so 1 and 3/4 coats should be start and then a coat of sludge when that arrives.
toxic3001 17-08-2006, 02:25 PM Got mine to day the delivery guy almost died carrying the box.
Only had one problem they must have droped it at some point as one of the tub's was FCUKED and most of contents was all over the box and a tub's next to it. But phoned CAD up and Mike the star that he is sorted the problem out right a way. And is getting me a new one sent out. So thank's to Mike for being so helpful and sorting the problem out so fast. Top notch customer service
jonas 17-08-2006, 06:19 PM I got mine the other day :)
dark_sounds 17-08-2006, 09:01 PM ive put on loads of layers of spectrum,,, personally i prefer sludge,, i think sludge is much better, less coats needed,, less effort better damping,, though still not as easy as the matting, neither is it as straightforwardly good as damplifier pro
damplifier pro,,, chuck it on. and u notice the diference straight away.
spectrum... layer.... and layer... and layer... and layer... really need to build it up before noticing a major difference.
spectrum sludge,,, like spectrum, but without so many layers..
i think a good combination is the damplifier pro, plus spectrum or sludge plus spectrum. or loads of sludge,..
id trying to keep under the 4mm rule,,, then you might have to stay to matting +/- spectrum/sludge.
use sludge and you will have to go over 4mm to get the same effect as the matting would.
just my input :) i like the finish they give to the car! makes it look semi factory! better then shiny stuff all over!
jonas 17-08-2006, 09:53 PM How did you apply the spectrum dark_sounds?
toxic3001 17-08-2006, 09:56 PM As i say dark im going to use body line matting stuff in the boot as a foundation then im going to add around 2 gallon's of the SS on the top and the sides. I may get a pack of Second Skin Damplifier to fill the gap's in the door's then just coat it in SS. And last but not least ad a nice roll of Second Skin Overkill to finish of the door's
toxic3001 17-08-2006, 10:03 PM Jonas im going to get somthing like this a electric spray gun. There only £6 so not a problem if it dont work lol.

dark_sounds 18-08-2006, 12:05 AM cool man, you know where you get them from??
i think a combination of products is good, sounds like your ognna have a good sound deadening . how much u spent on deadening so far??
toxic3001 18-08-2006, 12:27 AM £200 all in
dark_sounds 18-08-2006, 06:22 AM just for the boot,, or 200 for boot and doors??
jonas 18-08-2006, 06:54 AM Would the spectrum be too viscous for one of those sprayers? I haven't opened mine up yet but other people have said it's not exactly runny.
dark_sounds 18-08-2006, 11:15 AM its like paint house paint, tbh, its not runny runny,, but its thick like paint ull do inside with.
toxic3001 18-08-2006, 12:58 PM just for the boot,, or 200 for boot and doors??
Boot and door's but that's just on the SS so say around £100 more to do the job i should think
toxic3001 18-08-2006, 12:59 PM Guy's if you wont a gun let me no and ill get a price on one for you.As i say around £5.99 i think
