Anyone know where I can get a 17" G4 Powerbook screen from? TIA The Tera 09-08-2006, 10:12 PM Shouldnt he be the one looking for the replacement? ;) jexdirectedtech 09-08-2006, 10:14 PM He is clueless, I will find it and he can pay for it Dan. 09-08-2006, 10:14 PM fleabay? jexdirectedtech 09-08-2006, 10:15 PM Am on there now, notrhing yet :( Beb 09-08-2006, 10:23 PM Probably more worthwhile to get a new ibook tbh. If you ever want to "write off" a notebook this is the easiest solution ;) mulletboy2 09-08-2006, 10:25 PM One down... several million to go :D :p Earl Grey 09-08-2006, 10:27 PM Ouch... where does your missus stand on this whole "make him pay" thing. More importantly, is he likely to cough up the enormous amount required to fix?! Did you have household insurance? jexdirectedtech 09-08-2006, 10:32 PM Would be a write off, but I have found quite a few screens quite cheap, but in america :( However my friend is coming over soon, so may be able to get him to bring one. Otherwise, I think there are a few powerbooks on ebay cheap enough. If I was going to get a new one, it would have to be the mac book pro. Mullet, GFY :P Missus is fine with him paying, and I dont do household insurance, not sure why now. mulletboy2 09-08-2006, 10:36 PM Mullet, GFY :P How very dare you?! :wow: :shake: [edit] LMAO @ Beb below :D Beb 09-08-2006, 10:36 PM Would be a write off, but I have found quite a few non-mac laptops quite cheap, but in america :( However my friend is coming over soon, so may be able to get him to bring one. Otherwise, I think there are a few non-mac laptops on ebay cheap enough. If I was going to get a new one, it would definately not be a mac because they suck. Mullet, you speak the truth, thank you for showing me the way :D Missus is fine with him paying, and I dont do household insurance, not sure why now. Sorted :D jexdirectedtech 09-08-2006, 10:43 PM One down... several million to go :D :p Im very distressed at the thought of not having my mac! You will pleased to know thats where all my flash and DW code comes from, so that should please you even further :p EDIT: Beb, its your turn to GFY now. :( :p The Tera 09-08-2006, 10:48 PM Ouch... where does your missus stand on this whole "make him pay" thing. More importantly, is he likely to cough up the enormous amount required to fix?! Did you have household insurance? I don't see how she would have any say in the matter - if you break something that belongs to someone else, you pay for it, end of story! It might be worth checking if he has household contents insurance, that way you can get a brand spanking new one :smokin: puggie 10-08-2006, 09:22 AM J I have bought mac bits from a german supplier, Apple are stupidly anal about who can repair macs and no one bends the rules over here, I'll see if I can find a link to the german company who were happy to sell me pretty much anything (got plenty of bits for my mac mini off them, they are not particularly cheap but they will sell you the stuff). jexdirectedtech 10-08-2006, 09:49 AM Cool, cheers fella! puggie 10-08-2006, 09:58 AM The place i used was: sales@ethernetworks.de you will probably be paying pretty much UK price for stuff, BUT they will sell you stuff thet is normally dealer fit only in the UK. jexdirectedtech 13-08-2006, 09:21 AM Managed to get a screen for £89 Fitted and all fixed and happy, although I do have 2 very small screws left over and I have no idea where I took em out  Gezzza 13-08-2006, 10:27 AM Managed to get a screen for £89 Fitted and all fixed and happy, although I do have 2 very small screws left over and I have no idea where I took em out  they obviously were not needed anyway:raz: add them to the spare parts collections after taking it apart a few more times your have enough spare to build a second one:lol: |
