hmm mixed emotion about this,

i got a second skin damplifier pro bulk pack,

a bulk pack later,,,, and just the boot is done,,, only just,,, no more left for anything else...

looks like im going to have to buy another bulk pack or something just to do the doors, and its only one layer,,, wouldnt mind if it was two layers :(

other then that,, the product itself is good, very very easy to work with, will get picks up,, also took videos of the results, think two layers is in order

best improvement ive seen is in the spare wheel well,, before it echoed,,, now its just a thud.

parts of me is thinking i should have gone for RAAMat as although not as good in quality,,,, im the bulk pack gives double what this has, and im certain twice the layers of that will be better then a single layer of damp, pro.

will defo be exceeding my budget

i know some will say it is myfault,, i should have measured up etc,, but its quite far off then what was expected.

as i said, the actual product is good! just think it should come in bigger packs and give it a boost in value for money.

and as stated,,, this is a E30 boot,, this scenario prob wouldnt happen in most hatchbacks :)

the rear quarters are surprisingly good,, as you can see in my tap test,,, it didnt make too much difference. just the tailgate!!! urgh! so horribly thin! 2 layers and still easy to vibrate!

bulk pack later,,, havnt done rear deck, or the parcelshelf or boot lid.

is it worth doing the seat backing if i want to get as much bass in as poss? surely this will mean bass wont pass??

hmm,,, ive only just caught onto the idea of sludge,,, looks like damn good stuff! thinking of adding a layer of sludge to the boot, what you all reckon? worth doing?

A BIG summer promo deal on regular Spectrum is looming. This is the same stuff as sludge but applies thinner (so it can be brushed or sprayed).

You may need to do 2-3 coats to get the thickness of sludge but i think you will find the cost saving on the ruchase will mor ethan make up for the added work ;)

btw, any idea on timing?? this sounds more then enough for me as it will only be something to put ontop of the damplifier pro which has done most of the job :)

Just one point to make here. Most of us start down the road of ICE upgrades looking at electronic gear, then probably custom installation ideas to get it all in place. The cost keeps rising as we learn more and the obsession starts to take hold.

When we hear about sound deadening, either as a general concept or as the solution to a specific problem - often annoying rattles, we naturally start to look for the least expensive way to get it done.

I look at it differently. After deadening several cars myself and hearing from hundreds of others, I now see sound deadening as THE critical first step in any installation. I have first hand experience with several vehicles in which a stock system with proper sound deadening sounds better than an aftermarket system in the same car untreated. It is also the only significant audio enhancement most of us will make that permanently alters the car.

After you've done it once and seen the benefits, sound deadening becomes an integral and essential part of the process. We need to consider the cost of materials in that light. Sucks, but the only way to get maximum value from our nice toys is to install them with a proper foundation.

Cutting corners to save a few hundred on an install that costs thousands is the worst economy of all.

Great pics and videos there!
Typicle car of your size will require clsoe to 120 sq feet to Properly dampen. as much as 180 can be used with multiple layers.
If you go with Rammat for the rest of the install, I am sure you will be happy. Rick is a great guy to work with with good products
