View Full Version : Time is running out for entry...
Panch 03-07-2006, 07:42 PM Right.. come on you lot.. where are all these entries for the T14/EMMA event? We need to get some idea of numbers so we know how many judges to bring, so if you want to compete in this event, you need to get your entries in NOW!!
We will be closing the entries one week before the event, so there is no use in asking after this, or turning up on the day expecting to be able to compete.. it isn’t going to happen because we will not have the judges there to accommodate this.
If you want the EMMA competition scene to continue in the UK, then you need to start showing some support for it, otherwise you just may not see it again next year. The EMMA UK team are working their butts off in their own time to get this thing off the ground, so let’s see a little commitment please? We’re even bringing the event to you, to save you from travelling, so what’s your excuse? ;)

Voice_Coil 03-07-2006, 08:24 PM im gonna be there and i will enter panch, but its gonna be close....
by the way....NICE CAR !!! :smokin: :smokin:
For rookie unlimited, you obviously have install and sound judging. Do you have RTA and SPL too?
Panch 04-07-2006, 08:33 AM Hi John, nope.. no RTA.. no SPL.. I doubt very much that we will ever have either in EMMA UK competitions to be honest..
Panch
Bloody hell, that was quick! :D
Cheers Panch.
Anything else off the top of your head I should know about??? I mean stuff that I should have in the car or have done different to IASCA?
If it's all in the rulebook then that's cool. I've got one somewhere. Just need to find some time to actually have another look throught it!
My entry is done btw :)
Panch 04-07-2006, 08:44 AM Anything else off the top of your head I should know about??? I mean stuff that I should have in the car or have done different to IASCA?
TBH, most of it is in the rulebook.. read the fusing carefully.. but you know that already.. ;)
Don't go anal on the cleaning.. so long as the car's been washed and hoovered, that'll be fine.
Oh, and clean the grease off your battery terminals.. we don't really want to cover our hands in grease before we check the rest of the car.. ;)
Apart from that, I think the rulebook covers it all.. but if you've got any other questions, then let us know.

KaosKustomsUK 04-07-2006, 08:45 AM dont have a rule book, dotn knwo for sure if my transport can make it, i think i'll be cutting it close, any chance if i find out im coming i can book my place but pay cash on the day, would probably be easier for me?
Thanks Panch :)
EDIT: - Come on guys! £20 entry for a detailed assessment of your sound system is as cheap as chips imo.
By the end of the day you'll know where your system is lacking and how to improve it ;) You might go home with a trophy too :)
Get your entry in now! :D

Hi, yes that should be OK. We can probably cater for a couple of people doing this, so long as you are definitely going to be there, and your registration is completed before the cut-off.. ;)
Panch
Nawty 04-07-2006, 08:58 AM I've just sent off the registration form and await payment details :D
KaosKustomsUK 04-07-2006, 09:00 AM what ill do is speak to the guy who'll be driving and see if he can or not, and if he is, ill book up and PM you panch,
gecko 04-07-2006, 09:01 AM Grrr, I guess I really should get my finger out and look about competiting in this.
The car has a fair few problems though which really need to be sorted out beforehand, the worse being the curse of the rattling door :(
Just remembered I haven't got the latest EMMA CD or Rulebook - this isn't looking good :(
What class would I be in? Rookie Unlimited I take it,
Panch 04-07-2006, 09:02 AM I've just sent off the registration form and await payment details :D
Great.. :) You should get an email back over the next day or so confirming your entry, and asking you to pay your fee by Paypal to the emmauk Paypal account.. which is adminuk@emmanet.com.

Welcome to the ranks of the large woofers in doors posse!!
It won't hurt to compete with the car as it is.. you're going to be there anyhow!! ;)
Panch
Whilst we've got your attention Panch.....
tbh I've still have not got a clue what I'm listening for on the EMMA disk :o
I don't have a reference home system so it's really difficult to set the car up.
As we discussed before Panch, it would be super helpful to have a small write up of the tracks on the EMMA disk and what it should / shouldn't sound like. :)
I'm not asking for one right now. Just a comment for the future :)

you're not wrong, it's developed quite a nice buzzing sound which only happens when it feels like it
I'll put my registration through by the end of the week for sure. I'll be in Rookie Unlimited I guess? I only have the old EMMA CD/Rulebook. The rulebook probably wont be a problem but the CD might. Will the judges supply there own CD's for judging ala IASCA?
also, just to confirm, there is a sound judging and installation judging but no RTA or SPL as mentioned before?

I will sort this out John.. It might take me a couple of weeks or so, as I am moving house at the moment!! The only reservation I have, is that it is going to be of limited use as there is a new disk for next season.. ;)

Yup, Rookie Unlimited for you, and we supply our own CD.. :)
Just to confirm, all classes will be judged on Sound and Installation.. NOT on SPL or RTA.. :)

Hi Kenneth, hopefully, we should get a reasonable turnout for the competition, but we shall see.. ;)
We are in a field, so there should be enough space for you to erect the tent over the car no problem.. :) If you need any further info, then let me know. I've booked your hotel room, so I'll send you an email with the details etc. over the next few days..

Nawty 04-07-2006, 10:02 AM Am I right in thinking the engine has to be off during judging?
I am thinking purely of the judges as without aircon the cars are going to get particularly toasty inside
Also, will we get a general run-down of how the day will work. Having never competed (and only doing so to get some advice, not to win) I have no idea of what is going to happen :)
Mike@CAD 04-07-2006, 10:06 AM Panch can you PM me an update of numbers as they come in so i can start doing a rough site plan ;)
Cheers
Mike

hi nawty.
don't worry about it you will be O.K. mate just take things as they come we will let you no in advance when your car will be judged when they come to do you car just introduce yourself to them talk to them they are all decent blokes & none of them bite {we feed them before we let them loose}
The car will need to be started at 1 point during the judging but the judges will do it & just go through the process then briefly run through you score sheet with you
They will offer you their advise when they have finished judging your car & hopefully you can use their advice for the future
So just enjoy the day & you never know you may win something..:wow:
regards.
ken..

Do you know if they'll be access to a tap for car washing?
If not I'll leave the car washing stuff at home.
Panch 12-07-2006, 07:55 PM John, there'll definitely be toilets, so I would say there'll be access to some sort of tap!! I'll check with Mike and come back to you.
Panch
Thanks Panch.
It can be a little difficult to fill a bucket up from a small wash hand basin in the loos. Hence my question. :)
50 / 50 if my car will be there now though :(
It's going to the body shop monday morning. If it's done in time though it'll be there. Sounding rubbish but competing.
