Say I were to compete in the Rookie 1200 class where the limit on how much my install would cost is £1200, how would that work on second hand car audio, or more importantly 'old' second hand car audio. Do you have to use the prices that they would of originally been?
Probabily answered the question myself but just checking :)

Yes, the prices always count "as new".

Ok thanks, one other quick question. How would i prove these prices if i didnt buy them new? And does the 1200 include the price of wiring?

Hello mate.
This is one of the things I brought up at head judge training this year.
It isn’t that stringent as it is almost imposable to set the price in the U.K. as exchange rates are constantly changing,
The thing is it’s supposed to be based on the new retail price of the equipment in your system but as long as it is within reason there is a little leeway.
If for instance someone had a system that cost £1150.00 new from a dealer & your kit cost £1150.00 second hand.
This obviously would not be acceptable or fair as your kit will probably be much more high end equipment & closer to double what you paid for it if purchased at new retail price.
you sorta did answer your own question:D
Bit of a longwinded explain but thats about the size of it hope it helps:clown:

Thansk for your help. If i was looking to compete in a year or maybe two, where would be the best place to start? Rule book and cd?

The price includes no wiring and nothing which has to do with the power (capacitors,batteries,RCAs,speakercable,...)
Only HU,Speakers,Amps,Monitors...

hmmm, thats lame :(
i looked at this and was hoping i could squeeze in, my kit cost pretty much £1k on the dot but is all second hand apart from the midbass.

The Idea is that the value and the quality of the used equipment is compareable within the class to guarantee fairness. In that categories the smartest wins in other it could be the quality of the used components.

Hello mate.
I don’t want to sound patronising but.
To answer your post.
Would you really want to do yourself the injustice of competing in a lower class when you have the potential to compete in a higher one
Like I have posted before if you enter an E.M.M.A. COMPETITION. The EMPHASIS is that you enjoy yourself & learn from the experience.
If you win a trophy it’s a bonus.
Regardless our judges will do there utmost to give you a fair assessment of your system according to the rules of the category you enter.
The judges will then offer you advise you on how improvements could possibly be made so that you can get your system playing at its full potential.
After all that is what we are all trying to achive at the end of the day.

And if you´ve took part several times (and know the people) it´s not about winning...It´s just having some fun!
And a bigger fun is if you´ve got several people as good as you it´s the experience who will be the best THIS time? Its not who WON, just whos got it at that time.+But,hey, have a go and see it yourself!
