Hi guys it has happened twice now when someone has been on the computer, it has just started to dial out to some random number and then a meter comes up and it says how much money is coming out or something to that effect, just wondering what kind of program or virus or whatever this is so I can remove it as I need to keep the modem connected on this computer to recieve faxes on a daily basis but don't want to leave modem connected as it may be dialing some premium number.

Go to the FAQ section, Then the computer section, and look for the spyware guide. That should sort you out.
Disconnect the modem cable at all times, thats the first thing you should do.

make sure your IE settings are also set to never dial a connection
as said, delete the dial-up connection from IE so that it doesnt even look for it, and then unplug the modem (either the phone cable, or the power cable if its external. if its internal unplug it from the motherboard if you know how to)

Sounds like you got a trojan dialler installed itself.
Try Adaware, Spybot and Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta which found things the others didn't. One of them should find it, you'll be amazed at what **** you have got on your PC without knowing it.

Ineternet Explorer > Tools >Internet Options > Connections > Never Dial a Connection
Would be my first port of call :)
