Well i think it maybe 4v then. Yep setting up is all i can do to get this finished with.

Maybe i had the volume to low i think the volume goes up to 62 on the headunit so 3/4 of the volume would be volume 46,Roll on monday should have time to do it in the morning before work.

How can I be so thirsty in the morning, when I drank so much last night?

Hello Again

So i got in the car turned the volume up to its max then did the maths x 0.75 which gave me 46,So i turned the volume to 46 then the crossover at 80hz then put the gain to 4v then slowly turned it up but again no signs of clipping or distortion just the doors vibrating,I managed to slowly turn it all the way to 0.2v without any bad signs. I then put a cd in just to see if i could hear clipping then but no nothing. I have done the maths right the headunit goes up to 62.

Just beware I have seen gain controls where the slot is at ninety degrees to the "marker" where the setting is!

follow the Instrutions in this thread and you won't go far wrong - 4V will be "quietest" and 0.2V "VERY LOUD and distortiony..."

Perhaps start with the head unit at volume 5 to get a feel for how the gain potentiometer works without risk of breaking anything.

Also worth noting that volume controls are not linear. So if 62 is the max at 4V then 31 won't be 2V.

Yes i had noticed that when the email said 2v at max volume.

So if im adjusting the gain at 2/4 volume which is 46 then that would mean i cant go over 46 else that would bring in clipping.

So whats your thoughts on this,If the amp is more powerfull than the speakers then this is why im not hearing any clipping etc..? The amp is 2x 140rms and the speakers are 70wrms.

The low/high button is High Pass or Low Pass

Ive been using Tones and Music.

Both buttons are out as ive been using the High Pass and Low Pass on the headunit.

If it was a max volume wouldn't there be clipping at that volume that you wouldn't be able to hear?

Ive been using a 80hz tone.

Pick a higher tone. At 80Hz the output from the HU will be down 3dB. But you will struggle to hear clip until its REALLY bad.
