cool can you do me a favour then please i forgot to take pics of when i took mine apart! and on the clutch foot rest i forgot what goes on the middle screw, as its not the same as the other two bolts can you please take a picture of that!

yeah i do, iv sound deadend both my doors with loudboys 4mm stuff on my golf but never removed the grease but i will when i next do it as ill be doubling up on it so its 8mm thick

small update, ive ran all the speaker cables and the touchscreen cable to the dash, and managed to get all the interior back in,

hopefully start on the boot build tomorrow, need to go and fetch loads of wood tomorrow, and design what im gonna be doing, as currently its all in my head

i'll be housing the car pc and bit ten in the wheel well, hopefully leaving enough space to add a second battery in the future.

haha, part of my job is routing cables so just comes natural to me, and get my OCD from my dad, the braid was inspired from here,

im having nightmare trying to plan all the cables in my head as from the wheel well ill have 4 ariel cables 2 USB's and the DRC control lead all which have to go up to the roof

hey guys, need a little help here from the experts,

as Ive never done a "stealth" install before i need a little help with the design of the false floor,

my idea so far as is to use the wheel wheel for my pc, amps, bit ten etc i will turn the wheel wheel into a box as big as it can be and use the space left to hide cables etc, using removable panels, now i need this floor to be a low profile as it can so my idea is to use roof battons that are something like 40x25mm and no more nails them to the floor and then use 12mm mdf on top of that with an access hatch to the wheel well, all will be carpeted and the sub box secured thought the false floor and into the battons.

so what so you lot think, is there a better way i can do this?

need a bit of help on this one, my focal tweeters wont fit in the oem position with the backing cup on is there a way to take it off?
ive tryed twisting and pushing it nothing happens



also can any of the experts cast their eyes on my idea for my boot build and give me feed back please,

quick edit:

ive managed to get the tweeters out, was just me being a div!

so hopefully finish off the doors tomorrow, hoping i have enough sound deadening left

a little update, not got very far as tbh ive been a bit lazy and also trying to solve the nightmare job of ripping apart a 7"touchscreen to fit in the dash, im working on a double din bracket that will hopefully hold it all in place, as im not keen on using glue to hold it all together,

ive fitted the tweeters in the factory location, a bit a whizzing with the dremal was needed, then hot glued in place:




also made a start on the wheel well and false floor sub box came in very handy here!

little update guys,

got all the batons in place to lay the false floor onto, and also had a change of mind about where to put the distro block, it was originally going to go in the cubby hole where the rear light clusters are, but after realizing it would be a pain to get the power into the wheel well plus a very tight fit, Ive rerouted them under the rear seats and straight into the wheel well,

this will also be alot easy if i decide to add a secondary battery in the future




ive also managed to take the roof lining out (very good DIY guide on VWVortex) was very simply, and also found out where all my water was comming from one of the drain tubes had come off!! ,

there was originally a bit of foam where the black stripes are in this next photo, and after taking that off its made the roof very flimsy , so im think the best thing to do is MDF the roof:



have a rough idea of how to do this but think i may need some help from the experts
is there any1 in the west midlands area who could help me with this, dont mind paying a bit of money, but i want the roof to be solid, this is the thing I'm worried about if i try it myself, so if any1 could help or suggest any1 could you please PM me

hehehe now u have me thinking, i can evan get the ali from work!! and is probably alot stronger and lighter then MDF and less mess
