I like the sound of my JL Audio box, but I was wondering whether it could go louder, and a bit lower. Would porting help in this instance? If so, what frequency should it be tuned to, and what size should the box be?
Currently I have two sealed enclosures. One is 1.34Cu Ft, the other being 1.76 CuFt (both measurements before sub displacement).
What would you guys recommend? Would it sound worse in a ported enclosure, and would it be wise for me to stick to the Sealed boxes, or should it sound fairly good?
Ideal box for a JL Audio 12W6v1?

The vented JL design is here:

I would think about redesigning the port though, 2.5 in x 2 may have some vent noise.

Cheers Micb. I actually have the proper manual for the sub, and the dimensions differ somewhat.
External dimensions are: 24"x14"x16"
Slot widthx height x length are 1.5"x12.5"x18"
I was wondering whether there was a better design out there
