ford window winders

ok, my window has just fecked, how do i get the wqindow winder on the drivers side off?

I would assume by window winders you mean you haven't got electric windows. Anyway to get them off the Fiesta (which I have) place the winder so that the knob bit is downwards then push the door card away as much as you can. You should be able to see a clip the holds the winder handle onto the winder spindle, if you just move this clip out of the way using a screwdriver then the handle should just pull off. I am not sure whether this is the case for all Fords with manual windows but you could give it a try, hope this has been useful

Done the same way on my Mk6 Escort.

On the older fords, there was a cap around the centre of the winder that you need to remove to get to the screw.

do any of you know how to replace the window cable?

No sorry..

but as far as i know, you will have to replace the whole winder unit.
