Vibe Delta Box Bass Generator

Simple half DIN unit that goes in the signal path from your headunit and before amplification at RCA level. It features a subwoofer crossover for bass so you can use it to set up your subwoofer system instead of relying on the one built into your amp or headunit (or you may well not have a bass crossover.) Like so many half-DIN units, it features an auxiliary input for another music source, as this is so simple to include but the Big Difference is that the unit exists to be married to an adjustable bass tone generator. This has its own gain control, so whatever you are playing through the music system at whatever level will not affect how loud it is when you press the button to trigger a few seconds of tone. For this unit exists to show off the power, weight and depth of your bass system in an instant as you press 'go'. The device is set such that when triggered, it will play a tone of pure bass at whatever you have set it to, from as low down as 30Hz (Although for a few Bass Lords and Psychopaths, it can be set lower) at the volume that will be as loud as you want or are able to set it. In normal mode it will play this tone for a few seconds but it can be fixed to play as long as you hold the button in. This button can be the one on the front of the unit or else, in an inspired bit of lunatic design, by the remote-wired red button on a nice long (3m) wire that each unit comes with. This makes it like setting off an explosion in a quarry! - Subwoofer level control
- Low pass crossover 40Hz - 400Hz
- Parametric bass boost 0-12dB @ 40 Hz - 120Hz
- Frequency generator with separate level control @ 30Hz - 300Hz
- Auxiliary analogue stereo microjack input for iPod, MP3 player or DVD player
- Remote turn output with on/off switch
- 3 metre wired remote control for frequency generator

OK, lets get this out of the way right away. The Vibe Delta Box series unit known as Bass Generator has just scored Talk Audio's very first ever perfect score, which makes it the Uber-unit. A Deity of Bass makers, a simple looking half DIN unit that WILL sell to every single dude who ever wanted to make some bass. This is the most absurd and incomprehensible thing I have ever seen in my life. Incomprehensible to Those Who Don't Get It but a Philosophers' Stone to those who do. This is unbelievably cool, bloody awesomely simple, perhaps even Irresponsibly Bonkers and I love it without limit.
You know that bit in the original Toy Story movie when destructive child Sid gets a mail order mega-firework rocket and reads the warning? “…'Extremely dangerous. Keep out of reach of children.' Cool!” Well, the Bass Generator is like that. The Bass Generator is a woofer maker's worst nightmare, this is a Very, Very, Very Dangerous box indeed and will definitely mess some idiots up. The same sort who would not be trusted with a shotgun or scissors.
For the rest it'll make 'em laugh their arses off!
So, let's get warning out of way, and I'll word it so Vibe can have it for free.
WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CAN PRODUCE BASS THAT CAN KILL YOUR EQUIPMENT IN AN INSTANT IF NOT USED WITH CARE. PRESS THE 'BASS' BUTTON AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Which might seem a bit extreme but what you do is work gradually up to what you know will be as potent a boom as you can do. With folks like Ian 'Iceman' Pinder and others, they know what they can do through measurement. But now, instead of waiting while Young Jeezy starts up, Ian could simply press the Boom Button when he wants to and barbecue folks with his bass at will. (I think we must get him one…)
Best of all in my opinion is that Nathan Carey, the geezer who has been sponsored by Vibe with a huge Black Death Sound Pressure Level system to be installed by his mates at Highdown Car Audio, can do it too. For Nathan has Cerebral Palsy and while he drives happily, having the easy-grip bass button to trigger his fun when he feels like it is going to be brilliant.
For the designer has simply committed the ultimate sin in providing this unit. The Bass Tone generator has been banned from all car audio contests since the dawn of time, yet if you go drill and look at the Clarion Subaru from Las Vegas, which you will find here:
http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=645&Itemid=97
you will read that it had a custom-built bass tone genny in the system to show off its 12 by 12inch, 156dB woofer set up.
Now, you can buy a signal box that is Pure Weapons Grade for less than a tank of petrol and that's a bloody No Brainer. If you have woofers and like to show off (yes, YOU!) then buy one. It's quite simple really. But if (and for some of you, WHEN) you blow your arses completely to ribbons with this awesome toy, DO NOT try the Warranty-Schamarranty-Schtick, as you'll get no sympathy.
To be found in the same glass counter as Catapults, Crossbows, Hunting Knives and Swords. Ownership ain't illegal but may well aughta be!
